Build a property listing or rental app (no code)

Create a real-estate listings app — properties with photos, filters, map, saved searches, agent contact — by describing it to an AI agent with a hosted backend. Prompts and launch tips.

Estate agents, landlords with a few buildings, and local rental brokers all want the same thing: a clean list of properties with photos, prices and a call button, that their clients can browse on a phone. Marketplaces exist, but they cost commissions and show competitors next to you. Your own app, built on App Builder Agent, shows only your listings.

This guide covers listings, filters, maps, enquiries, and the admin screen for adding properties from a phone.

What a listings app needs

Buyers and tenants compare on photos and filters; agents need to add listings without a laptop:

  • Listings with real details — Price, type (flat/house/plot/shop), bedrooms, area, location, furnished, availability, photos.
  • Filters that match how people search — Rent vs buy, price range, bedrooms, area, locality. Fast and obvious.
  • Photo gallery and video — Many large photos; one video link if available.
  • Map — Location pin per property, a map view of results, distance from a chosen point.
  • Contact — Call, WhatsApp and an enquiry form that records the lead.
  • Saved and alerts — Save listings; alert when a new listing matches a saved search.
  • Admin add/edit — Add a property with photos from the phone; mark rented/sold.

Build it with App Builder Agent, step by step

Listings must be shared between the agent and the clients, so ask for a hosted backend from the start.

  1. Create a mobile app project. Clients browse on phones; the agent adds listings from the same app with an admin login.
  2. Describe your market and listing fields. Currency, localities and the fields you actually collect.
Build a property app for “Khan Estates”, Lahore. Listings: rent or sale, type (house, flat, plot, shop), price in PKR, marla/sq ft area, bedrooms, bathrooms, locality (DHA, Bahria, Johar Town, Model Town), furnished, photos, description, map pin. Filters by all of these. Listing page with photo gallery, map, Call and WhatsApp buttons, and an enquiry form saved to the backend. Save favourites. Admin login to add/edit listings and mark sold/rented. Hosted backend. Navy and gold design, Urdu and English.
  3. Add three real listings. Use the admin screen in the simulator; check the filters and the map.
  4. Add alerts and leads. Saved searches with notifications and a leads list for the admin.
Add saved searches with a notification when a new matching listing is posted, and an admin Leads tab listing enquiries with call-back status.
  5. Launch. Export the APK for clients and publish the website version for Google — property searches are local and high-intent.

Prompts that work well

Adjacent apps with the same bones:

Make a landlord app for 12 buildings: units with tenants, rent due dates, payment records, maintenance requests from tenants with photos, and a monthly income report.
A PG/hostel finder app: rooms with sharing type, meals included, rules, photos, distance from colleges, and a booking request with a token payment by transfer.
Build a commercial property app for a broker: shops and offices by area, floor, frontage, footfall notes, brochures as PDF, and a shortlist you can share with a client.
Create a vacation rental app for a coastal town: homes with calendar availability, nightly price by season, booking requests, house rules and check-in instructions.

Make it feel finished

  • Photos first: a listing without photos should not be publishable.
  • Show price per unit area; serious buyers compare on it.
  • Make the enquiry form save a lead, not just open WhatsApp — you will want the list later.
  • Localities as a fixed list beat free text; filters depend on it.
Tip: Paste three real listings in your usual WhatsApp format. The agent turns them into the field list and keeps that format for the admin screen.

Hosting and getting found

The hosted backend stores listings and leads with the project; nothing for you to maintain. Publish the website version: each listing page is a search result waiting to happen (“2 bed flat for rent in DHA”), and the APK keeps clients close.

When the business grows, ask for multi-agent accounts, commission tracking and a CRM view.

Frequently asked

Do I need to know how to code to build a property listing app?

No. You describe the property listing app in plain English and the AI agent writes real code (React Native for phones, React or HTML for websites). You can read and edit that code, but you never have to.

Can I install it on Android?

Yes. The builder exports a release-signed Android APK you can install directly or share; the same project can go through the Play Console for a store listing.

How much does it cost?

Starting is free: sign in and the agent builds your first version in the browser. Editing further with the agent, exporting APKs and publishing are part of the paid plans, which are priced per month with no long-term contract.

Will the property listing app work offline?

If you ask for data to be stored on the device (the default for personal apps), the app works without a connection. Apps with a hosted backend need a connection for shared data.
