Dog walking and pet sitting business app without coding

Bookings, a walk log with photos your clients see, and a profile per pet with vet and feeding notes: describe it to an AI agent and get an Android app for your business.

A dog walking and pet sitting business app needs three things: bookings (recurring walks, one-off visits, overnight sits) that clients request and you confirm; a walk log with photos, time and notes that the client sees the moment you finish; and a profile per pet with feeding, medication, vet and key details. Describe those to App Builder Agent and the AI agent builds an Android app with a hosted backend so you and your clients share the same data, while payments stay outside the app. A first version is free; the Member plan is $1.49 per 30 days at the time of writing for unlimited builds.

Most walkers and sitters run the business on text messages: "Can you do Tuesday?", "Here's a photo of Biscuit", "Did you remember his tablets?". That works for six dogs. At twenty it means missed bookings and a phone full of photos you cannot find. Franchise pet-care platforms solve it with a monthly fee and their branding on your clients' phones. An app of your own, with your name and just the screens you use, takes an afternoon to describe.

What the app needs

  • Client and pet profiles. Each client has one or more pets: name, breed, age, photo, temperament notes (pulls on the lead, nervous of bikes), feeding and medication schedule, vet name and number, emergency contact, and key or lockbox instructions kept behind your PIN.
  • Services and prices. Solo walk 30 or 60 minutes, group walk, drop-in visit, overnight sit, puppy visit. Prices shown to clients; no payment taken in the app.
  • Bookings. Clients request a service and time; you confirm, decline or suggest another slot. Recurring weekly walks set up once. A calendar view for you, a list view for clients, and a cut-off ("cancel by 8 pm the night before"). The booking and appointment app guide covers the calendar pattern in depth.
  • Walk log with photos. Start walk, end walk, duration, up to five photos, toilet notes if the client wants them, a free-text note, optionally the route on a map. The client gets a notification when the log is posted.
  • Sitting log. For overnight and drop-in visits: fed, medication given, litter or garden, a photo, a time stamp per visit.
  • Reminders. Medication due during a sit, a booking tomorrow, a vaccination expiry from the pet profile. The pet care reminder guide shows the reminder pattern if you want it richer.
  • Monthly summary. Completed services per client with prices, exportable as a PDF or CSV for your invoicing. Payments remain bank transfer, card reader or whatever you use now.
  • Roles. Owner (you), walker (if you have help), client. Walkers see only their assigned bookings and pets.

Because clients see logs you write, this needs a hosted backend (database, auth, photo storage), which the agent adds when you ask; it runs on the platform's infrastructure.

The prompt to paste

Open App Builder Agent, sign in with Google, choose a mobile app and paste one message. Change the name, services, prices and currency.

Build a dog walking and pet sitting business app called Muddy Paws for a business with one owner, two part-time walkers and about 40 clients. Use a hosted backend with email sign-in. Roles: owner, walker, client; clients join with an invite code. Client screens: Home (next booking, latest walk log), My pets (add a pet with name, breed, age, photo, temperament notes, feeding and medication schedule, vet name and phone, emergency contact, key instructions), Book (choose service: solo walk 30 min, solo walk 60 min, group walk, drop-in visit 30 min, overnight sit; pick date and time window; recurring weekly option; request goes to the owner to confirm), Bookings (upcoming and past, cancel until 8 pm the day before), Walk logs (each with start and end time, duration, up to 5 photos, notes, optional route map; notification when posted), Monthly summary (completed services and prices in GBP; no payments in the app). Owner screens: Calendar (day and week view of all bookings, confirm or decline requests, assign to a walker), Clients and pets (all profiles, key instructions behind my PIN), Log a walk (start, end, photos, notes, record the route with GPS while walking), Log a visit (fed, medication given, photo, time), Summary (per client per month, export CSV). Walker screens: Today (assigned bookings with pet notes), Log a walk, Log a visit. Friendly design, forest green and sand, large photos, one-handed logging.

If you do not want GPS routes (they cost battery and need a location permission that some clients will ask about), remove that clause; the maps and location guide explains what tracking involves if you add it later.

What you get in the first minutes

The agent writes the screens, creates the backend tables (clients, pets, services, bookings, logs, photos) and shows the app in a phone preview in the browser. Add a test client and pet, request a booking as the client, confirm it as the owner, log a walk with photos and check the client sees it with a notification. Then iterate:

Add a Report card after each walk: mood (happy, tired, anxious), energy level 1-5, and whether he ate treats; show it as icons on the client's log.
Add a Meet and greet booking type that is free, and require it before a client can book a first walk.
Let me block out holiday dates so clients cannot book them, and show a notice on their Home screen.

Log screens will be used with a lead in one hand, so ask for large buttons and a photo button that opens the camera directly. The generated code is in the editor beside the preview.

Getting it onto phones

Click Download APK in the preview header for an installable Android build; install it on your own phone and send the link to Android clients, who allow installs from the browser once. For a listing clients can search for, ask for a signed build (signed APK and AAB with a package id like com.muddypaws.app and a backed-up keystore) and follow the signed APK and AAB guide; Google Play registration is a one-time $25, and personal accounts run a 14-day closed test with 12 testers first, which your clients can be. Builds are Android only. For clients with iPhones, ask the agent to publish the same project as a website at a link on appbuilderagent.com, where booking and log viewing work in the browser; you and your walkers, who do the logging, can use the Android app.

What it costs

At the time of writing the free plan includes 500K AI tokens a month (with a free APK download), with all features and no card, which covers the prompt above and a few rounds of changes. The Member plan is $1.49 per 30 days for 5M tokens, unlimited APK builds and source export. Pro ($5.72, 10M tokens), Business ($31.12, 50M) and Max ($11.01, 90M) are for heavier use. The hosted backend runs on the platform's servers; you can export your client data and delete the project. Prices can change; the AI app builder page shows the current plans. Compared with a per-client monthly platform fee, the plan cost is the whole cost, and the app carries your name.

Notes for the US, UK and EU

The app stores addresses, key instructions and sometimes children's names in emergency contacts, so treat it as sensitive: keep key details behind your PIN, give clients a way to delete their account, and put a short privacy notice in the app. GDPR and UK GDPR require a lawful basis and a notice; CCPA applies in California. This is general information, not legal advice; the privacy policy guide has the checklist. Business rules differ by place: in England, boarding dogs in your home usually needs a licence from the local council, and many UK walkers carry public liability insurance and a key-holding clause; in the US, city licensing, leash laws and the number of dogs per walker vary by municipality, and pet-sitter insurance is common; in the EU, rules are national or local. None of that is in the app, but a Documents section with your insurance certificate and terms of service is one line to ask for and reassures new clients.

Browse the booking and appointment apps for calendar layouts, then paste the prompt with your business name and services. The first walk log with three photos usually sells the app to a client on its own.

Frequently asked

Can clients see photos from the walk?

Yes. Each walk log has start and end time, duration, up to a handful of photos, notes and optionally the route, and the client gets a notification the moment you post it. Photos are stored in the hosted backend, not in your camera roll.

Can I take payments in the app?

Keep payments outside. The app tracks completed services and shows a monthly summary per client that you can export, and you invoice or take payment the way you do now. That avoids card-processing fees and store rules.

Can it record the walk route with GPS?

Yes, if you ask for it. The app records the route while a walk is in progress and shows it on a map in the log. It uses battery and needs a location permission, so leave it out if clients do not want it.

Does it work with more than one walker?

Yes. A walker role sees only the bookings and pets assigned to them and logs their own walks, while the owner sees the full calendar and assigns bookings.

How much does it cost?

At the time of writing the free plan includes 500K AI tokens a month, enough to build a first version; a free APK download is included. The Member plan is $1.49 per 30 days for unlimited builds and source export. The hosted backend runs on the platform.
