Choose Vibecode if the iPhone comes first: as of November 2026 it builds native Swift iPhone apps, React Native apps for iPhone and Android, and web apps by chat, from its iPhone or Android app or a browser, and submits to the App Store without a Mac. Choose App Builder Agent if your launch platform is Android and you want an APK on your phone before paying: you describe the app, tap through it in the emulator preview, change it by chatting and press Download APK. Vibecode is stronger on iPhone, App Store publishing and web hosting with your own domain; App Builder Agent is the more direct route to an Android install file and a signed AAB for Google Play.
Who each tool is for
Vibecode (vibecodeapp.com) describes itself as an AI app builder for iPhone, Android and web apps, on your computer or your phone. As of November 2026 you pick one of three project types when you start: an iOS app in native Swift and SwiftUI for iPhone and iPad, a Mobile app in React Native and Expo with one codebase for iPhone and Android, or a Web app that runs in any browser. You can build from the Vibecode app on iPhone or Android, or from the web app. Native iOS apps run in an iOS simulator in the cloud, streamed to your screen; Mobile apps can run on your phone after you scan a QR code; and testers can open a Mobile app from a share link without an App Store release. Publishing leans towards Apple: a built-in wizard submits to the App Store without Xcode, and its changelog adds installing native iPhone apps without a Mac. Web apps deploy to a vibecode.run address, with custom domains supported. Around that it offers Vibecode Cloud (database, sign-in and file storage), image, sound and video generation, payments through RevenueCat and Stripe, plus SSH to Cursor, a command-line tool and MCP connections for developers. It suits people who want to build on their phone and ship to the App Store.
App Builder Agent puts Android first. You describe the app in plain English in a chat; an AI agent writes one React Native codebase (or Flutter, if you ask); the app runs in the emulator preview in the builder, where you tap through it; and you change anything by chatting. Download APK in the Preview tab gives you a file to install on any Android phone, and on paid plans a signed APK plus AAB is ready for Google Play. The free plan starts with Google sign-in, no card, and the agent builds your first app with a free APK download. A hosted backend with an online database, sign-in and an admin panel is added when you ask, AI features in the app use the AI backend that comes with the project, and the same account builds websites and games. It suits people who want to test an idea on Android phones this week.

Choose Vibecode if
- Your first market is the iPhone App Store and you want a native Swift app, or a React Native app submitted by a wizard.
- You want to build on your phone: Vibecode's own iPhone and Android apps let you describe and test the app away from a computer.
- You have no Mac: native iPhone apps run in a cloud simulator and go to the App Store without Xcode.
- You want a web app on your own domain, or rich media in the app from image, sound and video generation.
- You are a developer who wants SSH to Cursor, a command-line tool or MCP access to keep working on the code.
Choose App Builder Agent if
- Your launch platform is Android, or Android first with iPhone later from the exported source.
- You want an APK you can install today, with Download APK in the Preview tab, rather than downloading code and running your own Android build.
- You want to start free and put a working app on a real phone before you decide to pay.
- You want the signed APK and AAB for Google Play produced for you on a paid plan, without setting up Android build tools.
- You also want a website or a game from the same account. The to-do and habit apps in the gallery show what one description produces.
The same app in each tool
Take a small habit tracker you want to share with a group of friends: daily habits, check-ins, streaks and a reminder each evening. In Vibecode you would pick the Mobile app project type, because an iOS app project is Swift and cannot run on Android. You describe the app, try it on your phone by scanning the QR code, and send testers a share link. For iPhone users the App Store wizard takes it from there, with a free Expo account and Apple's Developer Program. For Android users who want it from Google Play, Vibecode's docs point you to downloading the code on the Pro or Max plan and publishing it with your own Play Console account, which means building the Android release yourself.
In App Builder Agent you open the APK app builder and describe it:
The app appears in the emulator preview within minutes. You check off a few habits, look at the weekly view, then refine by chatting: "let me pause a habit while I travel", "add a monthly chart", "add sign-in and save habits online so they survive a new phone". The last one brings in the hosted backend with an online database. Press Download APK in the Preview tab and install the file on your phone, then send it to your friends; on a paid plan the signed build gives you the APK and AAB for Google Play. More detail for this kind of app is in build a to-do and habit tracker app, and the one-click starting point is the habit tracker app maker.
What to expect if you switch
From Vibecode to App Builder Agent. There is no project import. On Vibecode's Pro or Max plan you can download your code; keep it, along with the running app, as the reference while you describe the app screen by screen. If your Vibecode project is a Mobile app, the downloaded React Native code shows the exact screens and data, which helps you write precise prompts. If the app is already on Google Play, an update to that listing must use the same package name and be signed with the key Google Play expects, so check what you hold before you move. You gain an APK you can install straight from the Preview tab and signed Android builds without your own build tools; you lose Vibecode's native Swift apps, its App Store wizard, its phone-based builder and custom domains for web apps.
From App Builder Agent to Vibecode. On a paid plan, export the complete project and keep it. Vibecode does not describe an import either, so you would ask its agent to build the app again as a Mobile app project for both platforms, or as an iOS app project for iPhone only, with your exported project as the reference.
Using both. A sensible split is App Builder Agent for the Android build and Vibecode for a native iPhone version. You prove the idea with an APK shared among real users, then pay for an iPhone build once people keep using it. Planning that first week is covered in build an MVP app for your startup in a weekend.
Tip: before you pick a tool, decide which phone your first ten users carry. If most of them are on Android, an APK you can send today will teach you more than a store listing next month; if they are all on iPhone, start where the App Store route is shortest.
Free options, stores and iPhone
As of November 2026 Vibecode's first app build is free for new accounts, and database, sign-in, App Store submission and code download need a paid plan; its plans run from US$20 to US$200 a month, paid in credits that roll over while the plan is active. App Builder Agent's free plan starts with Google sign-in and gives you your first app with a free APK download. Paid plans add unlimited APK builds, the signed APK and AAB, source export and publishing websites to a link; see AI app builder free plan: what you really get. For Google Play, both routes end in an AAB, with Google's one-time US$25 registration, and new personal accounts must run a closed test with at least 12 testers for 14 days before going to production. The steps are in publishing on Google Play from the US, UK or EU and signed APK and AAB for the Play Store. For iPhone, Vibecode is the direct route, with Apple's US$99 a year developer program. App Builder Agent's route is the source export plus Xcode on a Mac, explained in can an AI app builder make an iPhone app. For the wider field, see best AI app builders in 2026.
Frequently asked
Does Vibecode build Android apps?
Yes, through its Mobile app project type. As of November 2026 Vibecode offers three project types: iOS app (native Swift and SwiftUI, Apple devices only), Mobile app (React Native and Expo, one codebase for iPhone and Android) and Web app. Its docs say Swift projects cannot target Android, and for Google Play they describe downloading the code on the Pro or Max plan and publishing with your own Play Console account. App Builder Agent builds Android apps by default and has Download APK in the Preview tab.
Is Vibecode free?
Partly. As of November 2026 Vibecode's pricing page says the first app build is free for new accounts, and its docs list the free plan without database and sign-in, App Store submission or source code download. App Builder Agent's free plan starts with Google sign-in, no card, and includes a free APK download of the first app the agent builds.
How much does Vibecode cost?
As of November 2026 Vibecode lists Plus at US$20 a month with US$20 of credits, Pro at US$50 a month with US$55 of credits and Max at US$200 a month with US$220 of credits, with annual billing at US$200, US$500 and US$2,000 a year. Its docs call the tiers experimental. A live Vibecode Cloud backend or web deployment beyond those included costs US$20 a month each.
Which one is better for the iPhone App Store?
Vibecode. It builds native Swift iPhone apps, runs them in a cloud iOS simulator while you build and has a built-in App Store submission wizard, so you do not need a Mac; you still need Apple's US$99 a year Developer Program. App Builder Agent does not build iPhone apps; on a paid plan you export the React Native or Flutter source and build the iOS version with Xcode on a Mac.
Can I move a Vibecode project into App Builder Agent?
There is no import of projects from other tools. You describe the app to App Builder Agent in plain English, using your Vibecode app or its downloaded code as the reference, and the agent writes a new React Native or Flutter codebase.
