Get it on your phone

2. In the emulator preview, log in as an admin, add a few records, then sign up as a teacher and check what that role can and cannot see.
3. Ask for changes in plain words: "add a Phone column", "make late items red", "put the chart below the tiles".

Design the data before the screens

The best dashboards start on paper. Write down the three or four kinds of records you keep, such as students, classes and inquiries, and the fields each one needs. Then list who does what: who adds records, who edits them, who only reads, and who approves. Put both lists in your request and the agent designs the database, the roles and the screens from them, instead of guessing. Start with two or three tables and the tiles that answer your most common question, like "how many inquiries are waiting?", and add charts later once real data exists.
