Get it on your phone

1. Press Build this taxi booking app and sign in with Google. The agent creates the app and its online database.
2. In the emulator preview, request a ride as a rider, then log in as a driver and accept it. Step through Arrived, Start trip and End trip.
3. Ask for changes in plain words: "add a Van option", "show the fare in larger text", "let drivers see the rider's first name only".
4. Press Download APK, install it on two Android phones and repeat the test trip on real streets.
5. For Google Play, build the signed version from the same menu; the APK builder page explains signing and uploading.

Enter your real zones and fares before testing. Riders judge the app on the fare they see, so check that every zone pair gives the number your drivers expect.

Start small and local

The big ride apps match thousands of drivers automatically, and that is exactly what a small operator does not need. You already know your drivers, so first-come acceptance, or a dispatcher who assigns each ride by hand, is fair, simple and easy to trust. Launch with one zone table, cash at the end of the trip and your existing drivers; add booking for later, ratings and airport fares once rides are flowing. Be honest about the map too: it shows the pickup point and the phones' positions while the app is open, and it saves the driver's position at each status change, but it is not a live moving car and it does not navigate. For most town taxis that is plenty, and the maps and location guide shows what else a map screen can do.
